Judicial Branch employees are fully covered under the Workers' Compensation laws. These
laws provide payment for lost work time and medical treatment if you suffer a
job-related injury or illness. It is your responsibility to report an injury.
Report an accident or occupational disease immediately to your hiring authority
or supervisor. A claim will be filed with the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
Should your accident or occupational illness result in absence from work, your
hiring authority or supervisor will explain the benefits to which you are entitled
and the options, which you might exercise. You may also contact the Safety and
Health Specialist in the Human Resources Division regarding your benefits.
