NCFlex Program

Your participation in this program is optional

The NCFlex Benefits Program provides pre-tax benefits to State employees who work 20 or more hours per week in a permanent or time-limited position. Employees who participate in this program save approximately 28% or more on out-of-pocket expenses. NCFlex offers ten benefits:
  • Health Care Flexible Spending Account
  • Dependent Day Care Flexible Spending Account
  • Dental Plans
  • Vision Plan
  • Critical Illness Insurance
  • Cancer Insurance
  • Core Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
  • Voluntary Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance
  • Voluntary Group Term Life Insurance
  • Tricare Supplement
Enrollment in any of these plans is for a calendar year. You must enroll within the first 30 days of employment or during an annual open enrollment period. Coverage will begin on the first of the month following the date of hire. Because of the federal laws regarding pre-tax benefits, when you enroll in NCFlex, you cannot change or stop your participation during the year unless you have a qualifying family status change. Consult the Benefits Section in the NCAOC Human Resources Division for any questions you may have regarding this program. You may also wish to access the NCFlex website for specific program rate and information.
