The HR-Payroll System is an employee self-service system. You will use the system to manage your benefits, banking and personal information, and to submit your time worked and leave taken.
Training tutorials are available that are important to new employees:
- Employee Self Service. Provides you with the terms, concepts, knowledge, and skills associated with using the Employee Self Service (ESS) portal / website. It is available at any time at this link, and should be completed as soon as possible upon the start of your employment. Topics include:
- Getting started to log in and navigate the ESS portal
- My personal data to maintain your address book, bank information, and family member data
- My Benefits to display benefits plans, print a confirmation statement, and access web links to supplemental savings plans
- My Timesheet, My Time Statements for a chosen period, My Leave Requests, display your leave balances / quota overview
- My Paystubs to view and print paystubs, and to view and print tax data
- Manager Self Service. Provides new employees who will have responsibility for supervising other employees (direct reports) with the terms, concepts, knowledge, and skills associated with using the Manager Self Service (MSS) part of the HR-Payroll System. It is available at any time at this link and should be completed as soon as possible.

All employees must complete the ESS tutorials. Employees who will be managers must complete ESS and MSS tutorials.
