Orientation to a new job is a complicated process. There are many forms to complete and actions to take.
A checklist has
been provided for you to check off each area as you progress through this online orientation. To access the checklist please:
- Click here
to open and print the checklist (the form will open in a new window;
after you have printed the form, close that window)
- As you complete each section of the Orientation, check
the appropriate box on the printed page
- When you are finished, sign and print your name as
it appears on your Social Security card, then enter the date you complete
this checklist in the spaces provided on the printed page
- Return the completed checklist along with the other materials you
will complete in this Orientation to your supervisor when you are finished. Your supervisor will forward the materials to NCAOC Human Resources.
To avoid delays, the forms listed below must be completed before your first day of employment. Work with your supervisor to get the forms completed and submitted.
- A Judicial Branch Application for Employment (if not already submitted). Note: If you applied for the position online through the N.C. State Government Employment website, that application meets this requirement.
In addition, to ensure your first day orientation activities go smoothly:
- Plan what documentation you will use to verify eligibility for employment on Form I-9 (see the form, described later in this orientation, for a list of acceptable documents), and bring the original of each document with you
- Bring your Social Security card and driver license. Your Social Security card and driver license are necessary to permit reconciliation of SSAN and birth date with the Social Security Administration as well as retirement plan and other benefits enrollment.
Your Hiring Authority will have additional forms for you
to sign and include with the package that is sent to Human Resources.
